Turn off step counting on 7x

Hi,
I just got an Honor band 3, works great only one issue with Huawei Health app. The app also counts steps on the phone and merges it with what is reported by the tracker. Is there a way to turn counting on the phone off? Searched settings and only found one to turn off displaying on lock screen.
