Turning Down Volume Isn't Making My Phone Any Quieter...

Hi guys, I noticed that the Note 2's volume bar is very incongruent/inconsistent. For example, when I have my volume at 50%, my phone's notification sound from my text is still very loud. Even at the most quiet setting (next to silent), it's still loud (when it's suppose to be a lot quieter)... Also watching videos, I noticed that the volume doesn't increase as much when I go from 0-50%, but closer to 70% on the volume bar, the phone gets dramatically louder... It's inconsistent with the volume bar...

Is there any way to fix this? I'd like my notification sound to be just barely noticeable, and lowering my volume down to the setting next to silent isn't doing the job...

Smart Volume Free gives you much better control plus the ability to lock a certain volume. I started using it because I kept accidentally turning down my ringer volume. Free with some easily ignorable ads on the control screen.

Another choice is to make your own MP3 at a different volume.

There are individual volume sliders for ringtone, media, notifications, and system. Have you tried those, in addition to the global slider?

Where can i find the volume slider for message app? I go into app, set my volume and exit app to home screen. I adjust volume in home screen and it's the same as message app.. Seems like the message app uses same volume as home screen....
