Turning into Tech Junkie

Hi, I've been using a WP7 for 1-1/2 years and a coworker who's a big Android fan is selling me an Infuse4G at a price I can't pass up. It"s already rooted with jellybean but I'm not sure how smooth it'll be with 512mb RAM. Hoping to learn the os without getting too frustrated, seems like there's a whole lot of mods out there and the tweaking is a whole lot different than I am used to. Hope I don't turn this into a brick. Any advice on best place to start would be appreciated. Should I download Android SDK? Kies or Kies mini? Odin? a whole lot of new jargon. Thanks.

Have you asked them to use it briefly so you can see how smooth it will be? I wouldn't buy a used phone without messing with it first.
