Turning S-ON

I downloaded the unrevoked tool and used recovery to install it but getting a message that says E:..... and it won't install the S-ON tool.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

If your radio version is 2.15.00.09.01 the the s-on tool will not work. You need to flash this in HBOOT then use the s-on tool.

I have already restored the phone back to factory setting but am able to get to recovery by holding down the power and up button but the only option is to load update.zip

Keep getting error E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (no such files or directory)

Any suggestions?

The s-on tool should be installed in HBOOT not in recovery. You need to name the file "PB31IMG.zip" without the quotes and boot into HBOOT and from there should work.

Is there a certain name when doing the same thing for the S-ON tool?

If your only option in recovery is to install update.zip then that's what you need to name it.

Make sure you remove the PB31IMG file before going into HBOOT again.

When I try to load the update.zip file I get this error,

E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (no such files or directory)

Try just naming it update without the zip and then add it to your sdcard.

It started to work that time but stopped after verifying update package then got the error, E: failed to verify whole-file signature.

Suggestions?

I would try to download it again every now and then a download wont work. Only other thing I can think of is you may need clockwork to be able to use it.
