My phone updated to 4.1.2 on Verizon yesterday. Since the update, twitter is now using the same sound as my SMS notifications. It is getting annoying because I have set Twitter in the application to use a different sound (click settings/click the account/set the sound). Is there something I am missing here? I even turned off sync and it is still coming through as a SMS sound.

No you are correct, the update yesterday broked the notification sounds, it now uses the default sound instead of the in-app sound (a bug i suspect). I might be crazy too but i think my twitter notifications are no longer vibrating and lighting up the led. I think they will fix this in the next update hopefully sooner than later. What You should do is set your sms app to use whatever sound you prefer, and then select the default sound for the phone as the twitter sound you like. It works for me because every app i use has its own sound.

Try wiping your cache in the boot screen and then go back in and re-assign everything.

Tried that, as well as fully removed the app and re-installed. Same problem. Quite annoying.

I have this issue on an at&t note 2 as well.

Hi all.
On version 4.17, still get the same issue. I have Sony Xperia Pro, Android 4.0.4.
This is an anoying bug. I'm not able to disable the notification sound, so I had to disable notifications for twitter. :(

I had this issue on my old Moxo ex. Simple fix was resetting the default device applications. However, I just yesterday got the Galaxy Edge Plus and I am once again having the same issue.
