Android Central Question

Me and my husband both have an S9 and We both went away but his phone showed he had done more than me, when we had physically done the same. I could understand the steps being different as our leg length is different but the distance should be the same. Also our daughter has an S7 and hers was similar to his mine was by far out, we cross checked the settings and other than personal data everything was the same, why is this? Just before I think of buying a galaxy watch.

This is honestly a best guess. Most pedometers work the same and that's the same technology our phones use. My thought is that the placement of your phone had something to do with it not logging your step and, more importantly, active minutes, and in turn distance, incorrectly. If the phone doesn't think you're walking it won't track the distance; otherwise it may track you in a moving car.

Also depending on what pedometer being used, just simple motion transferring from one hand to the other can add to the count.
