Two problems with the recent Nougat update

I have Sprint in USA. Two problems I noticed
1 - It only keeps 5 recent apps open, in the past I would have 20-30, with no problem. Now it will keep many open, but a few hours later when I open the phone, it will only have 5 open. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted?

2 - I have wifi from the cable company. They have a 2.4 and 5G wifi. I used to connect on the 5G, but now it is not showing as available on the phone. I noticed I was not using wifi, and had to connect to the 2.4. Why is this?

Not sure about the memory thing, did they mess up ram management? Idk but im on marshmallow still, and for the wifi thing, it will intelligently choose the best and fastest network, it most likely connected you to the 5ghz network mode

Check your settings first. The recent apps being closed may be a feature of Doze being more aggressive with power management.

Also check in your WiFi settings that you are set to 2.4 and 5 GHZ allowed to be used. And yes, will choose the better of the two automatically. Or you can set it to only connect to 5 Ghz
