Two Spotify Accounts

We've got a bunch of Home speakers in our house. I want the devices to play Spotify from a shared family account when my wife and kids ask Google to play music, but use my personal account when I talk to it. I can't get this to work - anyone know how?

I have my Google account and home app linked to my Spotify with personal results turned on and I have a separate family Google account linked to the separate Spotify Account as well. If I link the family account and don't have my account linked at all, Spotify will play through the family account when anyone asks. As soon as I link my Spotify and Google accounts, all Home devices then default to using my Spotify accounts when anyone asks. Can't figure out how to make it work.

Any advice about this is appreciated. Thanks!

Is Voice Match active on your account? I only have two members on my household but we have no issues with playing from separate Spotify accounts either from each device (casting from the phone, for instance) or by talking to the speakers (with voice match it recognizes which account to use).

Oh, and also make sure that the speaker you're trying to get it to work in is linked to your account in the Assistant's Voice Match settings.

Yeah - voice match for personal results is on - no luck on solving my issue. All speakers default to my account no matter who is asking.

Thanks!

Do their accounts have voice match on? Also try this if they are: change Assistant's voice for each user (or at least you and someone else's) and try giving a command with a reply. Does the speaker recognize the difference (should speak out with the two different voices depending on who issued the command).

Voice match is only setup for me, but not for my wife and kids. When I ask the device for something it does give me personalized responses and does not for the other people in the house. No matter who asks Google, music okays from my Spotify account and not the family account I setup and linked.

Music isn't classified as 'restricted' (only stuff like e-mails and calendar are), hence, if they're not set up for voice match, it will default to the main account's (you) music service. Try setting up voice match for one of their accounts and that should 'fix' this and allow you to use two (or more) Spotify accounts, even at the same time (as long as they're not trying to play to the same speaker/speaker group, of course).

I don't want the family Spotify account to be associated with anyone's voice - I just want it to be the default account that plays when anyone asks - is that possible?

For instance, some of my kids are too young to have their own device and voice match, but old enough to ask for something from Google Home.

Unfortunately I don't think there is for music accounts unless you have voice match. Only thing I can think of is trying to set up the home with your account, and then adding the family one (seems you tried it the other way and your account 'took over', maybe the order affects which service to use by default?).

I've changed nothing since last post... but now my devices will only play from the family Spotify account...

- it doesn't seem to recognize my voice match anymore or play from my Spotify Account
- even though it is playing from the family Spotify account I configured, it won't play any custom playlists I made

Ugh! This is driving me crazy.
