I followed a recommendation I read elsewhere (XDA?) to download Kies to my computer, then hook up my 7 Plus and get the software update that way. Doing it over WiFi always just said I was up to date.
It took close to 2 hours to download the Kies software, download the update, transfer the update and reboot, but there are 2 things I have noticed. The first is that in the settings you can now change the function of the screen capture button. Nothing very useful, but at least I am no longer accidentally taking screen shots. Someone mentioned their AT&T tab already had that setting, so I assume it just had the latest software.
The second thing I found today is something I have read a few people complain about - when I am reading in the Kindle app (the thing I use my tab for the most) I can now advance a single page at a time with a tap on the side of the screen. Same thing with the volume buttons - it used to jump 2 pages, you could only slide a single page at a time, but now I can go forward a single page.
On my 4th day of use, I am loving it. My only complaint is battery life. It was cold and rainy all weekend and I spent most of my time reading, checking emails, and occasional surfing. It doesn't last a full day. I went ahead and ordered another charging cord and plug, but a 6 foot one this time. I will probably just need to top off during the day occasionally.
