ugh! how do i make dialer one default dialer?

I have it installed but cant figure out how to make it the default dialer :/

You can try, menu > settings > applications > all > dialer (which version you're using now) clear defaults.

That's correct but just in case after applications it should be >manage applications> then click on the "All" tab at the top, third one over. And then reboot the phone. At that point the next time you go to use the dialer it should give you the option to choose. Basically the same thing thefredelement said just a little more detail and he left out rebooting. Some people need it all spelled out, some don't. I'm just covering the bases

WTF? Do I have a bug or did AC just change formats in the middle of me posting? I had two windows up and was deleting one answer while touching up this one then my screen went all crazy and this new format popped up!

Did what you guys said...but not working
When I push the phone button on the home screen the stock dialer comes up (i want dialer one)
Then, when I touch the little phone icon on the bottom right is when dialer one comes up.
How do I get dialer one to show up immediately when push the phone button on the home screen?????????????????

That can be built right in to the launcher (sense/rosie), this is worth investigating though. Have you checked the comments space on the new dialer you got? Maybe someone else has gone through this or maybe send the developer an email?

Seems there isn't a way to overide the default froyo dialer button: (not sure if this means sense or not):

If you're not attached to sense you can always try launcher pro or adw launcher and put the shortcut to dialer one in the launcher. (this will not let you use any sense widgets like friend stream or people) That will take some getting used to if you're up for it.
