Ugh...Motorola not recognizing my "early upgrade eligibility" from VZW :(

My official upgrade eligibility date is 1/11/14. But VZW offered me early eligibility (which they commonly do), and I'm ready to dump this cracked iPhone 4 for a sweet Moto X! Got the colors picked out....done drooling over the cool video reviews.....ready to BUY!!

But when Motorola's online shopping cart connects to my VZW account it says that I have to wait.

It sounds like it's Verizon that's failing to tell Motorola that you're eligible, right? If so, that means Motorola is not at fault here.

It just a syncing error, as Motorola is only seeing my OFFICIAL upgrade eligibility date.

Speaking to a VZW rep now...think I can change the official date!!

If they are anything like AT&T, all early upgrades must go through customer service. No 3rd party option and Motorola uses best buys system for upgrades.

I just went through this with one of my phones. Verizon said I had an early upgrade, but motomaker would not see it. I ended up calling Verizon and getting bounced up to someone who ordered the phone for me. I then was emailed a pin /code that worked on the motomaker site, allowing me to design the phone, when time came to activate I had to call back and they walked through it again. Everyone was very nice, but they clearly left this scenario out when they defined their business rules. You can make it happen though, so call Verizon.... My guess is that if you wanted a black or white phone fulfilled via vzw that it might work more easily.

Back in late nov / early dec I got VZW to charge my contract date by 3 months. Took three different phone calls, but was able to order from Amazon after they changed the date. Chris
