Definitely agree. Coming from a severely under-powered Synology 220j, this scream in comparison. As stated, Plex through Docker works great. Where I used to get lots of wait time changing to a different album in Plexamp on my phone, with this it is pretty instant.

And yes, the OS is getting there. MUCH better than when it first came out.

I went with the QNAP TS-262 that has a dual core celeron, 4 Gig RAM (expanded with another 4 Gig Sodimm), 2.5 GBE port, 2 M.2 NVME (only 3x1) for only $279 (missed the Black friday price of $239). Been very happy with it so far - don't understand the why QNAP isn't at least an option when talking about NAS.
