Uh oh protection or carrier?

No surprise there! Ordering my 10 from HTC today. Hoping to play with it today too...but I am just going to buy now and roll with it. When I bought me DNA I bought it sight unseen (did research) so maybe HTC will do me another solid...LOL!

While you were playing... did you notice any Verizon "bloat" on it?

I am hoping to play with it today. For some reason Verizon didn't think my city was interested in the 10. I have only put my hands on a "dead" demo model. This part has been frustrating for me and another reason I would be willing to chew an additional 50 to not send any money directly to Verizon.

I pay $9 a month for a $99+ deductible for insurance on Verizon, and you can only use it twice.... Let's just say the first year I had my phone I claimed 3 times and they kicked me off insurance for a month lol

And obviously, AT&T's insurance won't cover a phone they don't even sell, right? :-) I imagine I'll be dropping their insurance when I switch over to the HTC 10. Does anyone here have experience with Squaretrade insurance?

I was just playing with the phone a minute ago. Aside from VZ Navigation, Visual Voicemail, and My Verizon app, I didn't notice anything else.

Perhaps I am not sure where to look.

Also, FWIW, the Verizon logo is on bottom back and not TOO bad.

Compared to the branding on the z30. I'm happy.

The down side was you had to be without your phone for a week or two while they fixed it.

That's not exactly correct. With the UH OH Protection, you have the choice to either have them ship you the phone first (with a hold on your credit card) OR you can ship your damaged phone first (without a hold on the credit card). From HTC's website (https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...com%2Fus%2Fuh-oh-protection%2F&token=tqKW_xZD

1. Get a replacement next business day before you send us back your damaged phone. Requires a $599 credit card hold until HTC receives damaged phone.
OR
2. Send us your damaged phone using a prepaid label provided by HTC. Receive a replacement phone within 2 days of HTC's receipt of damaged phone. No credit card required.

Thanks. Didn't know, and probably don't have that room on my credit card anyway :)

I ordered my HTC 10 from Verizon ($548.99 plus 20 dollar activation fee) and I traded in my LG G4 to get $312 dollar Verizon Credit.

I am wondering if I should have just bought the unlocked version from HTC at $599? It is only a 50 dollar difference for "uh oh" protection and it being a truly unlocked phone.

Problem is I already traded in the G4 and received the Gift card, I wonder how that would go about? Oh, I guess there is a 35 dollar restocking fee as well. Crap.

Don't sweat it. You don't get an "unlocked" phone for Verizon. You have to buy the carrier version whether it be directly from HTC or Verizon. I was not willing to give the Red Devil a single cent so I "over paid" and got it from HTC with Uh Oh.
