Breaking: Galaxy S24 series is now getting the stable One UI 8 update

Samsung is rolling out the stable One UI 8 for the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra in South Korea, with a wider release expected soon.

On Reddit, someone with an S24+ got the One UI 8 download while on AT&T. It was a factory unlocked model from Samsung.

Guess unlocked gets it before locked models. Used to be that way, then kind of flipped for a few years, now back to the way it was before again.

Edit - spoke too soon. Just checked again and getting the download now.

yeah, already submitted error reports on the Members app. what gets me is that I saw a truck load of identical complaints/issues from members who were already running on 8 on the Fold/Flip line from as far back as the very end of July, and well into August..........we'll see.

the complaints and issues have to do with DeX after the update. I'll start a new thread on this if others use DeX and are interested.

I downloaded One UI 8 this morning and there are two problems I've discovered and reported to Samsung.

First, DeX has been completely reworked from its original design and is now a version of Android 16/Google's desktop effort. Lost are a number of features, but the biggest bug is with launching apps. After opening an app for the first time, I had to resize it and place it on my monitor where I wanted it (not a problem). After closing the app and relaunching it later, it did not remember its size or location. It opened back up at its default position and size. (very cumbersome and not...

I cleared my cache partition incase any little phone gremlins were hanging on.


I had to setup new fingerprints for the biometrics in my secure folder, which in turn triggered having to re-enter my secure folder app passwords. First time that's ever happened.

Not complaining ... just thought it was unusual. Maybe it's part of implementing the new features in secure folder.
