UK Government to ban Whatsapp.

What are your thoughts please on the government's decision under what they are calling the Snoopers Charter to place a ban to the UK for Whatsapp.

As we are aware Whatsapp uses encryption and the UK government are not happy about this as they need to be able to gain access to prevent terrorism, whether the developers of Whatsapp are willing to remove encryption is another question.

While I understand why they want it banned I'm sure there must be other applications and Internet sites which could also come under consideration, but surely banning them all would cause complaints all round.

Thoughts please.

off topic - after India , UK also following ban culture !

I think to prevent terrorism govt (any) should work on security policy etc ... banning doesn't help .. as terrorist getting intelligent day by day.They know how to bypass this kind of stuff
