UK Note 8 Oreo

Still not sure about installing it, might just hang on a while longer on nougat.

I done it this morning, haven't really looked into it but not alot changed. Its brought WiFi calling to my phone now which I couldn't use before so I'm happy with that.

Great stuff. Great about the WiFi calling.

( worked for me out the box BTU 7.1 with EE sim.)

Has it brought Volte on 3?.

I gave in lol, running fine, will possibly wait to see if the personal message tone per contact is brought back before I get another SMS app.
People that say that they don't get the number next to the notifications (ie 5 emails etc) it's optional in settings.

Hi everyone.

I finally got the Oreo update today for my Note 8. My provider is Sky Mobile

Mine running well. I did do a factory reset though.

No real running difference though tbh.

I use textra anyhoo so the notification issue is a non starter for me.

I've got the update on o2 and it's buggy as hell.
Crashed needing a soft reset, keyboard seems less accurate, GPS keeps bugging out and my app icons won't change to normal without a background so instead I'm stuck with the horrible rounded app icons with a plain white background.

Uff.
Granted I'm on EE EVR, but after a reset its been solid. Not found any issues yet. That said, Nugut was solid as well.
Surely can't be that much difference between the operators.

Finding the update is running great on my note 8 with the EE firmware. I didn't factory reset either and just cleared the cache.

Yeah, few days with it now and no problems to report.

Will tide me over until my Note 9 arrives anyway.

EE firmware has volte & wifi calling enabled out the box yeah (carrier specific of course)
Is there loads of bloat crap?
Was just thinking if it would be a benefit to install on my xeu dual sim over the french xef

On the subject of Wi-Fi calling, does anyone use this right now?
I only ask because today I noticed my battery had run down more than usual and after checking the phone, the wifi calling was enabled, I must have accidently hit the Wi-Fi calling icon in the drop down notification bar.

I use it continually.
Either at home ( zero signal) or in IT bunkers during the day.

Don't notice any battery issues.

Anyone get this update today?
