UK S3 firmware update has broken my phone

did the update on my uk galaxy s3 last night via kies and now i cant make calls everytime i try i get ' unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped working' message

Ive tried factory reset and its still doing it. it keeps switching itself to gsm only aswell

Have called samsung support but they cannot call me back until monday! anyone have any ideas?

Can you not return it?
 
Yeah but it means returning it for repair, ive had the phone since may 30th, has nobody ever heard of this issue?

the chaps talking about flashing a different modem are fixing the same issue I believe. The discussion goes back in to an earlier thread that is linked in the first post.
 
Cheers for that im on vodafone, i shall be awaiting my call from samsung on monday and see what they advise, i have tried firmware and utilization via kies twice but it has not fixed it, dont really want to factory reset it as ive done that once and it hasnt fixed it
 
Ah ok.

Was your phone a branded handset direct from vodafone ? Or an unbranded one from a 3rd party ?

If it was branded if you search around you should find the original vodafone firmware, if you flashed back to that maybe it'll work again. The baseband version you are looking for is i9300bulf1 (thats whats on mine).

I am from india. i got this update for my galaxy s3 2 days back. When i try to call or receive call call from same number, every time i try i get " unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped working" message.

And the service provider signal goes and returns back. Please suggest if anyone knows abt it...

i have the same problem when I'm going to make a call i had this message "unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped working" and the service provider network is down and return back again in awhile , i don't know what to do ?
please if any one have a solution please kindly post it......
