Ulefone Power 3 (Android 7.1.1) and Android Auto - it doesn't work

Hello everyone.

As the title says, I have Ulefone Power 3 (running Android 7.1.1) and manually installed Android Auto.
However, it is impossible to connect it to VW RCD330+ radio using wired USB connection - the devices simply don't pair up.

Is there anything what can be done to troubleshoot or make deeper investigation of the issue?

From what I have read online, wired (via USB) Android Auto should work almost on all devices, meanwhile for wireless there is a set of only certain models.

Have you tried different cables ?
