UN-UPDATABLE GALAXY S3- please help!!!!!!!!!!!!11

My galaxy s3 'about Phone' has no option for software update, can not go in download mode. Anyone with ideas on how to go about the firmware update? by the way, this thing (phone) of mine is running on Gingerbread.

Have you tried using Samsung Kies to update your phone?

What phone do you have? I don't think the S3 ever came with Gingerbread.
