unable to add widgets....

So I downloaded a few widgets and when I go to add them to my home screens they are not in the folder to add. I've downloaded a few different ones to be sure it wasn't just a one off incident and I am unable to add anything. Any ideas?

Try a longpress on any blank homescreen to see if the widgets can be added.

Yes they can be added. The issue is I am not seeing new widgets that I download to add.

Are you running 5.0.1 or 5.1? When I upgraded to 5.01, several widgets that I knew were installed didn't show up when I long-pressed the home screen to bring up available widgets. I went into Google Play and made sure every app and widget was up-to-date, and did more than one full power-off reboot of the phone before they finally appeared. I have no idea why they disappeared in the first place, and no idea what voodoo magic brought them back. I've seen this problem posted elsewhere with the same mystery results.

I'm running 5.1. I cleared the cache partition and that seems to have fixed the issue.
