unable to buy apps after rooting

hi,

i rooted.
now i'm unable to buy apps from the app store. tried to buy 2 apps from online store, got google logo with 'error' logo. neither are clickable.

tried from phone app store, when i go to purchase, shows all my valid cc's as "unusable"?

this suggestion did not work: Settings>applications> manage applications> market Clear cache and uninstall updates

i can download/install free aps.

common issue? new issue?

i did install the swype beta (but accidentally deleted the original )...

I'm also rooted and have the GingerBlur ROM running and just to test to give you an answer I purchased a game (was going to buy anyways lol) and it downloaded and everything went fine.

If nothing work you may want to try a reflash of the SBF found HERE followed by the market fix for that SBF found HERE.

When you say " shows all my valid cc's as "unusable"", do you mean that you are checking it through google checkout? If so, then that isn't an issue with the phone and explains why you have an error. I would try removing and re-adding the cards.

Rooting will have no affect on purchasing anything from the market, in fact there are apps on the market that require root.

I'm also rooted and have the GingerBlur ROM running and just to test to give you an answer I purchased a game (was going to buy anyways lol) and it downloaded and everything went fine.

I wouldn't be so quick to suggest they flash the SBF. The phone isn't bricked and the issue may have nothing to do with the phone. That SBF is different build than the one that came with the phone and there are some issues with it, especially with wifi and 5Ghz band. It's best to avoid flashing the SBF unless you are bricked.

Agreed but I've been following a few threads over at XDA and several people have had issues with different things and flashing the SBF has fixed those issues. There are fixes available for wifi and the market with the new SBF but unless the OP is experienced you are correct.

yes, must be a market issue... i posted as i was considering that maybe the phone gave a 'hidden' identifier if it had been altered at the 'root' level... i contacted the mothership via their market forum page

yes, OP is inexperienced NooB... :'( part of the issue is i was concerneded that since i didn't follow instructions, i deleted swype instead of renaming to install swype beta... NooB thought maybe it needs to know all stuff is there?
