Unable to connect Galaxy Tab S4 to Mac

I've tried multiple solutions to connect my Galaxy Tab S4 to my Mac, but Android File Transfer will not recognise my device. I've tried multiple cables, resets, updates etc, but it still does not recognise the device. When I connect my tablet to my wife's iMac, it works fine (same age of iMac as mine). I have tried the usual solutions such as enabling USB debugging. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try downloading and installing the USB driver from the Samsung Download Center.

Thanks for the reply. I cannot seem to find a USB driver specific to this device for the Mac

I have downloaded Smart Switch, which does install the drivers I believe. Smart Switch can see the device, but Android File Transfer cannot....
