unable to get verification code from amazon

Interesting situation, for some reason, I am unable to log into amazon app on the fold 6. I am not getting the verification code, and yes, I am checking the spam folder. No problems with pc, audible on phone nor alexa on phone. But they do not require verification codes. The phone number is correct and the email is correct. No problems getting order notifications and email. Any thoughts? I want to make sure I checked all options before trying to contact amazon, which is a major pain.
 
Have you tried a different method of authentication, such as an authenticator app?

oops, just found out that I may have fib a bit when I said no problems with the pc. Just found I am unable to get into the login and security settings without a verification code. There went that idea :-(

Wow, even stranger things happened. first, I check my email ccount and every verification code I asked for showed up this afternoon, all at one time. Then I immediately went to the app to log in and found it did not ask for the verification code, Everything is good now.

I know verifications codes are good for security, but they tend to be a pain to use no matter the app. I either don't have the phone with me or there is some sort of delay...
