Unable to receive MMS messages

Thanks j-dam for the reply. Actually I just returned from the Verizon store where I had a very helpful fellow first try activating a new NFC SIM on a Verizon LG v30 while I did a reset. I tried the SIM in my u11 and it didn't even read it (no service). Then the CS guy tried activating my old SIM on the LG, making sure advanced calling was on. I put that SIM in my u11 and I'm back to where I was. Everything is fine except I still can't send SMS messages. I'm pretty frustrated right now. I really like the u11 but I'm about to sell and get a pixel 2 xl, taking advantage of the $300 off Verizon deal. Other carriers don't work well at my house so I'm sticking with Verizon.

Did he reset (start from scratch) all the info on your account including re-adding HD Voice? Also, was the advanced calling setting on the LG in the on position? Mine didn't have any service at first either. I restarted it and had service as soon as it booted. Then it took a few minutes for phone calls and texts to work. If you still have the SIM i would put it back in and give it a chance to connect. I hear you though...if i have anymore problems i am just going to switch over to AT&T. I am past the point of return so i have no choice. Love the phone though.

I'm not 100% sure on whether he reset my account. I'm sure I requested that he make sure advanced calling/HD voice were set to "on" on my account and I'm positive we made sure that those features were set to "on" on the LG that he was activating. We waited quite a long time for the NFC SIM to work in my u11 after it was activated (and did a reboot of the u11) but there was just no service.

I've already wasted a lot of time on this issue and I could spend hours more without it getting resolved. And who knows what future software updates will do to Verizon service. My wife helped me make up my mind over dinner...I'm getting the panda pixel 2 XL tomorrow with the $300 off deal. Lesson learned. I get Verizon phones from now on.

Gotta do what makes you happy. I personally couldn't deal with the blue tint. Looked at them in the store and it really bothered me. U11 is the only phone for me right now, even if i have to switch to AT&T at some point - which also has pretty good service in my area. Phone has been working well on Verizon so far.

Yeah, I'm OK with the blue tint. Doesn't really bother me, as you need to be looking at the phone from quite an off angle. I picked up my Pixel this morning and I'll probably be selling the u11 soon. I was checking ebay and the resale of the u11 isn't bad at all so I'm not losing much $ in the deal and I did have 6 months use out of the u11.
The u11 has been great up till now but not being able to sms people is a deal breaker.
Guess I'll be hanging out more up with the Pixel peeps now.
Later guys!
