Unable to run Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit on Windows 7

System Details:
Windows 7
Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU Q800 @ 2.50 GHh
RAM 8GB
64 Bit Operating System

I downloaded [http://www.wugfresh.com/] the file NRT_v1.5.3.sfx.exe and installed it to directory C:\Program Files (x86)\WugFresh Development

After the installation was finished the application does not start. I got the following error message.

An instance of Nexus Root Toolkit is already Running. OK.

I clicked on the File : NexusRootToolkit.exe" and get the message above. I looking in the Task Manager and no process named NexusRootToolkit.exe is running.

I then try to uninstall the software. Although i see the uninstallation in progress however it did not remove the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\WugFresh Development and all the files are still existing there. The size of the folder remains 249 MB before and after the uninstallation procedure is complete.

Has anyone faced the same problem and can anyone please advise on how to get this fixed ?

install it by right clicking the exe and run as administrator. Did you try rebooting your PC?

I really dont use these tool as i unlock/root it by myself with Android SDK and some fastboot commands.

Thank you for your response. I installed the .exe as an administrator. As explained above after the installation was finished the application does not start. I got the following error message.

An instance of Nexus Root Toolkit is already Running. OK. I browsed to the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\WugFresh Development . The following three files are there:
NexusRootToolkit.exe
Uninstall_NRT.exe
Wug_Updater.exe

I ran the NexusRootToolkit.exe as an administrator. I got the same error message again. Then i ran the Wug_Updater.exe as an administrator. I can see this application in my tray icon on the right side. This application told me that my WUG package is the latest.

I then uninstalled the package that was just installed. However although the uninstllation progresses and i got the message that uninstllation is complete. The before and after size of the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\WugFresh Development is the same. Also the folder is still available in the Start > All Programs> WugFresh Development. This leads to the conclusion that uninstallation did not happen.

I will have to read your steps completely and get back to you after reading them.

Have you tried double the tray icon and see if the app pop's up?? it might be minimized to tray.


My guide is detailed but the steps to follow is simple.
 
I have checked the tray icon. The application is not minimized to the tray.

I have also looked into the Task Manager and there is no Nexus Tool Kit running under the "Processes".

I have checked the 29 page thread on the link you provided. There is no information available on how to fix this error.

However on the LATEST RELEASE DETAILS - VERSION 1.5.3 (8-18-2012)
Changelog | WugFresh

The following is mentioned in the changelog.
Added code to prevent multiple instances of the toolkit running at once and also to prevent duplicate GUI’s; now if you try and open a GUI that already exists, if its minimized or behind other windows it will restore it and then bring it to the front.

The Error Message "An instance of Nexus Root Toolkit is already Running. OK." may be a bug related to the above.
