Unable to see every notification?!

My previous Wear OS watch would display every notification, every time. By that I mean if I got a text the message would appear in full on the display for several seconds. Then if I got another text the same thing would happen. I could see every single notification at a glance. It seems with the Watch 5 Pro I need to actually go in and open up notifications?! I hope this isn't the case since, aside from telling the time, my primary use for a smartwatch is to see notifications at a glace. I'd hate to have to return this watch as I really like the overall style. But if it can't do that I guess I'm out of luck!

Not sure why yours is doing that, but may be a setting. I'd check the 'Show phone notifications on watch' option in Notifications as well as the 'Advanced notification settings' area and making sure that the 'Show with details' toggle is turned on. You can also tweak whether or not to turn the screen on upon receiving a notification.

Hmmm.... I rebooted the watch and I think things might be better?
What's weird is that now the notifications pop up, but then they're quickly covered by a digital clock overlay. Hard to explain. A blurred image of the notification is there, but then then the time is on top of it.

Maybe you're using a weird clock face. Swipe things to the right, and over on the left is supposed to be the notifications screen, until cleared.

Do you have AOD turned on? (and if you do, does it 'go away' if you turn it off?)

Also there is a setting in notifications that you wont get them if your using the phone...Maybe that is the issue?

I had a similar problem but have gotten mine to show the notifications by going to "Notifications - App Notifications - and then make sure "Google" notifications are turned off. Also, if you have "Assistant (installed on watch)" downloaded, then make sure it is turned on.
