I'm an HTC One X user about to switch to the S5. I like many things about the Galaxy including the keyboard with dedicated number keys. On Youtube I saw S5 videos showing secondary symbols next to the letter keys. While trying out the phone at a brick and mortar, I couldn't enable that function on the demo phones and neither could the rep. I bet I overlooked something simple and was looking for some help. Thanks in advance. -Jason

Do you mean the symbols ABOVE the letters? I'm loving the quick access of them by simply pressing and holding a letter. When I want to write a "?", instead of going to SYM, I just hold down the letter m and the "?" enters my text! If You want to select another symbol which is in the list above the letter you can select one of those too.
I hope this s what you're asking.

When I press I can see options above the letters like you described. What I'm looking for is similar. On my current phone, when just looking at the keyboard, I will see a small "?" up and to the left of the "K" Button. Or a small "$" next to the "F" key. I'm trying so hard to figure out how to get that type of display on an s5. I'm just frustrated because I've seen the new galaxy phones with AND without secondary key characters being displayed. I'm wondering if they will show by default if I turn off the "swype" style option?.. Just makes it hard to test because I haven't switched phones yet. Thanks a lot for your help! I hope I can get lucky and find the setting for it.
