Unable to send e-mail

I have a weird problem with my e-mails.( My provider is Thunderbird )
There is no problem to receive e-mails

Sending e-mails does not work for what ever reasons.I get a message "failed" and
"There is an error in your e-mail server"
First question: how can it be a server problem since receiving emails work but
sending not.
Second question: do I do anything wrong by sending ?I searched all over the place
how to send a email but no answers.
Therefore I wonder if anybody could explain me what the proper way is to compose
and send an e-mail.

Welcome to the forum as a new member! The settings for outgoing and incoming mail servers can be different, so success with one does not mean everything is good. Secondly, no, there is no trick to sending. I would suggest you remove your email account and set it up again. Newer phones are pretty good at coming up the correct settings for the major sites, Gmail, Yahoo, etc. Thunderbird may be using something off normal so I would contact them for the correct settings for incoming and outgoing servers and do a manual install of your email account.
