I've been having issues with my battery overheating and draining very quickly the last few days. I was going to try and update the OS but whenever I try to check for an update I get an error message. I'm still on Android 13. I never got any notifications about an update to 14. I'm on AT&T.
With regard to the battery, I don't have a ton of apps running at any one time and there's usually only 2 or 3 active apps. I have all the battery optimization doodads running. My battery was a 100% and I literally didn't touch or use it for over 5 hours and it dropped down to 15%. I should also note that I have not installed or changed anything. This started out of the blue.
The screen is starting to bubble at the hinge. Started out as a small spot where I thought my screen was just dirty and in just 2 days it spread across half of the screen.
Since AT&T charges a crazy amount for new phones when you buy them outright,I'm on the installment plan and I still have 21 payments left (roughly $400). I'm wondering if it's worth paying the $400 and just getting a new phone or if these issues can be fixed.
Any thoughts?
