unbranded, unlocked UK phone no update

Having just seen the post here on saying the KRACK patch has been released for the note 8 ive been checking my phone for the updates.

As of today no updates since August for what samsung call a flag ship phone I feel let down.

It seems they are mainly working on the S8 and S8+.

Clearly personal data is not a concern to samsung

I don't understand what Samsung are up to as the update seems to be out for all the carrier branded firmware but not unlocked. Why would they do that?

It is strange why the UK hasn't received any updates.

My unlocked, unbranded, Australian note 8 has now had two security updates, 1 November, and yesterday, 1 December.

Yeah I'm unlocked and unbranded in the UK too and still stuck on August update. Carriers used to be much later getting theirs out but nowadays it's reversed

It's a bit concerning. I don't really care about the latest version of Android but having a phone that's now got a security patch 4 months out of date isn't ideal.

Yeah Samsung screws themselves by having million different firmware version across the world for a single model. It's really sad seeing some countries unlocked non carrier model still stuck on old security updates. Last year it was the same in the US for the non carrier unlocked Samsung models, they used to not bother updating it. But this year in the US they have stepped little bit on updates, at least now in the US we are getting frequent security updates on unlocked Note 8 and I believe on the S8 models as well.
