Uncommon Samsung Galaxy S6 Issues.

Hello Android Central. I am new to Android, as of two months ago when I switched from an Apple iPhone 6 Plus to a Samsung Galaxy S6.
I am somewhat intelligent when it comes to electronics, but I am out of my element here with my current issues.

Main Issue:
Samsung Galaxy S6, will only charge using the white Wall Charger and Cord the phone came with. Using a Battery Pack, or attempting to charge my phone in ANY car using the Cigarette USB ( 12 Watt ) my phone will stay at 1% or for Example 30% and go up to 32, and back down to 28 depending on what im doing on phone.
The screen glitches and times out and freezes for a few seconds occasionally as well.
Also the phone dies very fast, i do play music on it throughout the day but it dies within a few hours and im thinking of going back to Apple.
ANY suggestions will help.
I want a good theme for my phone so i can organize my apps how i want, but all the apps on the Theme Store that are free are corny, even the paid ones arent very cool. Im thinking of downloading a theme that i like the Icons on than just switching the Wallpapers.. idk im getting sick of this phone. Whenever im charging it on the wall (Like i am right now ) the plug that connects to the bottom of the Galaxy gets super hot like 110 degrees..

Hey there,

There's 2 possible causes for your issue. Either you have so many apps and services running in the background that any charger but the Fast Charger can't keep up with the battery drain from said apps and services that it won't charge. This could explain why your fast charge cable is also getting so hot as it's pushing to charge the phone and keep up.

Possibility 2, your phone is defective and if you are within the return time frame, I would be doing so ASAP.

Sounds like a defective phone to me. My s6 works on all usb chargers not just samsung ones and the in car chargers. I have tons of apps on my phone and my phone never gets hot while charging. You can try optimising the apps in the battery settings.
I've played music on my phone before (google play music) for 8 hours straight and still was not flat.
As for freezing issues, I've had my s6 for 6 months and my phone has very rarely crashed/froze. I do use smart manager once a month to clear ram.
I'm no expert on phones, but maybe try clearing your cache partition or wiping the phone and starting again to see if that helps.

For a theme, go for something basic (like Material Black by Cameron Bunch). Even changing the theme doesn't mean you can't organize the apps the way you want. It mainly just changes the icons, background, buttons, etc on various screens and menus. You can still tailor it to your heart's content.

The great thing about the Material Black theme is that it makes many pages (Settings, Phone, etc) with a lot of black, which of course will help save battery life with the OLED screen.

If you then want to take it a step further, download a launcher such as Nova, Themer, Buzz, etc and then you can tailor and customize so much more than the stock Touchwiz launcher that comes on the phone.

I agree with the other comments about your charger - there must be a defective charger, cable, phone or a rogue application on the phone. I have no issues with other chargers on my phone, although I did purchase a QuickCharge 2.0 cigarette charger for my car and a QC battery pack as well so that they charge as fast as the charger that comes with the phone.
