Uneven display colors

I really want to love my U11 in solar red but I have noticed something about the display that I cannot unsee for the moment. The right side of the screen is way more cool in color temperature and the left side much more warm. I'm the first person to admit I'm really picky with screens but it is pretty obvious and annoying when reading something on a white background as your eyes move left to right. Otherwise it's a great display as far as clarity goes. I think it's less noticable in sRGB mode but still see it. Anyone else have this?

Also my capacitive keys are different brightness. The back key is slightly but noticably brighter than the recent lol I know that's OCD and could live with it but idk about this screen. Thinking about exchanging but my luck will get a phone with worse issues.

I'm OCD too, and it took me 3 HTC 10's to finally get one without a screen that had yellow tint. I would keep exchanging until you got one that was perfect for you.

I went through two Nexus 6Ps before getting one without a reddish tint to it. I also went through more iPads than I can remember before getting one without half the display having a yellow tint. Had the same issue with my Nexus 10 and Nexus 7. Now that I think about it, I can't remember a mobile device that I've purchased that didn't have some kind of display inconsistency.

Seems like screen manufacturing is just really difficult, at least in terms of producing a consistent product. I hope I don't run into issues with my U11 whenever I buy it, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if I do.

If you are particular about displays and are noticing something, my money is on the display being funky or abnormal; not on "it's just you." :) For sure return it or exchange it until you get the screen you like and that works the way it should. If it were me, I wouldn't be able to unsee that either. And it would for sure affect your experience. Exchange! And then let us know how the new one is! You're liking the solar red colour, though?

This is exactly why I bought from Amazon. It's exceedingly easy to process an exchange, and I will certainly do that as many times as necessary until I get one that's worth the $730.

Awesome, smart move! Perhaps I'll buy my next phone from Amazon as well. I've heard really good things about users buying devices from there. Good luck!

Thanks! The only caveat I'd add is that I recommend buying a Nexus/Pixel directly from Google. That way you can deal with Google post-return period rather than getting pushed to the manufacturer. If I'd bought my Nexus 6P from Google, then probably they would have fixed the boot loop error even post warranty whereas Huawei refused to fix it even if I paid them.

Ah yes, buying from Google would definitely be a wise move. Haven't really heard many good things about Huawei's customer service, to be honest.
