"Unfortunately, Bluetooth has stopped working" message with YouTube videos, how to fix this?

I just bought a LG G3 phone to my mom. Now she's telling me she can't watch videos on YouTube using her Bluetooth earphones.

I have made tests using her LG earbuds and my Plantronics handset. It's definitely the phone.

Whenever you try to watch a YouTube video, Bluetooth crashes as soon as you press the Play button. It pops up the message "Unfortunately, Bluetooth has stopped working." Then, your device will try to reconnect, sometimes achieving success and switching audio back to the handset but if you switch to another app, then go back to YouTube and press play again, the same will happen.

Some other times Bluetooth will just remain stuck as Off, forcing you to reboot your phone.

This is really annoying...

I just tried and yes, it is happening in safe mode too.

That suggests a problem with either the firmware or hardware. If it's a firmware issue, you could try a factory reset, although that often won't help if the firmware itself is glitching. You might have to reinstall the firmware, but this isn't always easy. Do you have Verizon? Verizon has a handy software repair utility for this kind of problem.

Thanks for all your help so far. I'm not sure how can I reinstall the firmware. I've never done that before... It's from a carrier from Costa Rica (named Kolbi).
