it has a unibody but not as visible as the Inspire 4G.
SUB-dawg the Thunderbolt infoid.
What do you mean by that though?
the inspire doesn't have a battery door, it has a slot at the bottom for the sim card and microSD card and a slot on the side for a battery. the thunderbolt however has a battery door. the unibody is under the battery, sim and microSD card slot. as a result it feels more sturdy within. i hope that helped

yep, looks awesome. people are going to call it a galaxy tab since it's small though. Also have you seen the flyer lately. That thing is HTC sexyness haha ;p

I thought that the gray metallic bezel was metal? And that it was the only exposed part of the unibody...
i really like the stylus (don't flame me) that it comes with.

Hi
Do you have a link etc.., explaining this or showing it? I've used and played with HTC devices with plastic battery doors and none of them actually have aluminum UNDER the battery or SIM card. The Nexus One is a good example. I was under the impression that the aluminum uniBODY of HTC devices is the outside frame and holds the device together but does not actually have aluminum inside the device. My understanding is that the reason the inspire 4g has more aluminum on the outside is because there is not a plastic battery door. So you either get more aluminum real estate or you get a plastic battery door and the ability to add a bigger battery(I prefer the latter). I've never heard of aluminum inside or under the battery of any HTC device. Not saying you're wrong just looking for more info(pics or documentation)
Thanks for that, but what I mean is a pic or documentation that the Thunderbolt has aluminum inside the device? Like I said I've never heard of HTC putting aluminum on the INSIDE of the device. I've taken my Nexus One apart and the only aluminum on the device is visible. Same with the HTC desire.see attached pic. it's the inspire. the thunderbolt however has it inside the device.
That is my opinion as well. The interior of the Thunderbolt looks to be the same as all HTC devices and that does not appear to include aluminum on the inside. Just the outside frame. In the Thunderbolt's case all around the outer edge and wrapped around the bottom to complete the unibody and give the device it's structure. I've always wondered why they don't use an aluminum battery door. I think it would be a nice touch. Regardless, I'd rather have a plastic door than an all aluminum back like the 4g and be able to add an extended battery. IMO, that is the achilles heel of the Inspire 4G.Here is a picture of the Thunderbolt with the battery cover removed.

It appears to me that the only part of the Unibody is the part that wraps around the kickstand, below the battery cover. It appears to be plastic directly under the battery door.

That's interesting. There is a guy at another forum that has a demo Thunderbolt:Actually in a hands on video of the tbolt I remember the door was taken off and placed aside and it made this metallic ping noise.
