Unlimited data plan question

Just got my new Atrix and I am really liking it so far.. Just found this forum trying to learn more about it. I had a iPhone 3G that was a company phone but am switching jobs. My gf has an iPhone with AT&T with unlimited data. I know they don't offer this plan any longer. When we we're in the store our sales person said I could not get unlimited data with my new line on the family plan even though she has it. Ayone have any other experiences? I am going to call customer service but thought I would ask here if anyone has had a similar situation with a different outcome? Thanks in advance for any info.

i have the same situation that they wont let me get back the unlimted data plan even they said before we could. If u could get ur plan back please tell me because i am going to call in and make them change it for me too

I've had the unlimited data plan with my iphones in the past for years, called in to get it transfered to my atrix and it required a supervisor's override to get it moved over to my atrix. As long as you had the unlimited data plan before you upgraded to your new phone, you can transfer it over.

To the OP, since you would be a new line on the family plan, you wouldn't fall into the category of having an unlimited data plan grandfathered over to the new phone.

I came from the Blackberry Bold 9000 with unlimited data package and when I upgraded to the Atrix they just continued my unlimited plan since I already had it. =)

I had similar problem. I went to Radio Shack cause they had it cheater than any other place. The Rep told me I couldn't be grandfathered into the unlimited plan eventhough I told him that I was pretty sure I should be cause I had it. After going back and forward. I said whatever. The next day I called AT&T and told them my problem and they said I should have left my unlimited data plan alone. Anyways she was nice enough to get a managirial override and return me to the unlimited data plan. If u had the unlimited data plan should be able to keep it.
My theory I think the Reps get more money if they give u a new plan. My guess.

They switched my unlimited plan over from my iPhone to my Atrix. They botched it up in the store, so I called customer service and they handled it no problem!
