Unlimited Data =\= Unlimited Texting?

I just signed up for my first data plan. I just spoke with a verizon rep and they said that that doesn't mean unlimited text and I would have to pay separately? is this true?

yes it's true. data is your web browsing and email. sms/mms are separate.

but that would be coming from my google voice line correct? so itll be 45+ for just the data part if i want texts then. sigh.

This is just my opinion, but in my experience Google Voice texting was not very reliable.

Kstufff: not sure if you qualify for any student or corporate discounts, but that can help quite a bit.

i am a university student. is it only for certain universities?

I don't know how up to date this list is, but you might check and see if your university is on there.

You can also go to this website and plugin your email address. If you qualify, you will get an email from them with more info.
