Unlock Code

I was wondering if there was some kind of hack so my phone would allow me to bypass the unlock code.

I setup my company email on my phone, and per security it made me setup an unlock code whenever the phone went into sleep mode.

I know on my previous phones that I was able to install a hack and bypass this. I was just wondering if there was something like this for the LG Optimus S on Sprint.

Clarification : What the OP is saying is he setup his device on his company's exchange server which enforces an EAS policy. Once you apply the administration privileges to the phone, you cannot disable the lock pattern unless you completely remove the mail account which, defeats the purpose. The user wants to know how to bypass said policy while keeping the mail account.

/\/\ just so were clear, unless you deal with exchange, the garbage above is not expected to make any sense lol /\/\

Exactly, does anyone know of a way to bypass this. If there is a way. I was able to do it on my Touch Pro and Palm Pre.

ok so i dont know how well this is going to work but here is a link to an email.apk from VD thats been deodexed, png optimized for size, zipaligned for speed, and EAS bypass for you :)

Just download it and install like you would any 3rd party app not from the market. Again i make no promises. It might be wise to remove your work email account from the phone, remove the passcode from the phone, install the apk i linked below, then set the account back up.

Email.apk

NOTE: People are probably going to read this and be confused like it's something special, it's not. If you run ThundeROM, you already have this. If you don't use an exchange server with forced EAS policy, you don't need this.

anyone have a good link for the email.apk??

email-22-23.zip

Zip file with email.apk for 2.2 or 2.3

Each version is named appropriately

NOT my work - just providing a sharing link.

For install - you need to copy and overwrite the existing one in the /system/app folder

Rename the apk to email.apk first before copying.

So if running a Froyo rom - use the email-android-22.apk and rename it to email.apk, then copy over
and if running a CM7 flavored rom - use the email-android-23.apk and rename it to email.apk, then copy it over.

I feel ya. Stopping that mess from controlling my phone is one of the main reasons I rooted! It's seriously dangerous when driving and all you want to do is change the song or make a speed dial call home and you have to put in a PIN or a password.

I can tell you that Reborn ignores the system admin demands of Exchange, so it is already fixed within that ROM. Love it.

If you don't want to install a modded e-mail app, another solution in CM7 is to go Settings >>Cyanogenmod Settings>>Tablet Tweaks and disable the lock screen altogether. Unfortunately, this will leave you with no slide keyguard or anything; the phone will wake to the home screen on any key press.
