Unlock imported razr

I am thinking about buying an unlocked razr from a retailer such as expansys. When ICS is available, would it lock back up if I updated? I am guessing so, but just want to make sure before I buy a phone that is only available on unacceptable networks.

I can't imagine an update would re-lock the phone.

The only thing I would watch out for is make sure you get one compatable with your network. If you get the gsm version, don't expect it to work on Verizon.
