Unlocked at&t S6 on Tmobile

So, I've Unlocked my s6 from att and activated it on T-Mobile (strictly due to the super high costs of att)

I was wondering, when I check for software updates, it still uses the att software update... How do I check with T-Mobile?

You will not get T-Mobile updates on your phone.
The hardware is and always will be an AT&T unit. It may recognize you have a non ATT sim and now allow you to get ATT OTAs on your device. You will probably need to use Kies to get software updates in it.

What exactly is kies? Where can I get it? Online , Google play?

Kies is Samsung Software. You should still be able to get it from the Samsung website.
