My phone only shows LTE with 2 arrows...

I am getting the most out of my UNLOCKED HTC ONE on ATT

below is what I saw in another post .. which I am not getting

actually thats why I didnt buy the unlocked one from htc website cause Im looking for international version that gives better LTE bands and I still dont know where to buy it from

That icon should only be on the ATT LTE version of the one.. all international and unlocked version have different software (no bloatware). I have the developer edition and i have the same icon, 2 arrows with the LTE. Im getting pretty good data speed.. i avg around 15-20 mbps. I've reach 30+ in some areas... im in Los Angeles Area..

dont know if it can get better than that..

I have the DE and I get either the LTE symbol with arrows, or occasionally the H symbol (HSPA+). I've never seen the 4G symbol, but I don't think this is a problem.

As others mentioned, the 4G in that image is the AT&T version of the One, they had that on all their LTE phones. Part of their version of the build. Our unlocked versions just say if we are in HSPA (H) or on LTE. "4G" is just a marketing word.. both HSPA+ and LTE are 4G.

Actually...although I haven't encountered LTE yet (going to search that out this weekend), the 4G icon on my T-Mobile US version of the One is identical to the AT&T. I was surprised about that too!

Okay now it makes sense because when my AT&T gsm iPhone went from LTE to 4G service my unlocked HTC one with AT&T gsm stayed on LTE and didn't go to 4G!! So it's my understanding that 4G LTE is the same, & Like you said dotB, 4G is just a marketing tool!! LTE (long term evolution) is the future in wireless Internet service for years to come!!

technically though, isn't HSPA = 3G+? i think at&t made the mistake of calling H+, 4G. people get confused with 4G and 4G LTE. so basically, H+ = 3G+, and LTE = 4G?

I suppose, it's a marketing term any way you want to look at it. You can look at it like 4G Jr. or 3G Senior . Either way, faster than basic 3G and slower than LTE

No...T-Mobile started this HSPA+ is 4G. AT&T HAD to start calling it 4G otherwise people would think that T-Mobile had it and AT&T didn't.

This is what you should be seeing. Mine is unlocked Dev edition on att.

HSPA+, or Evolved High-Speed Packet Access, is a technical standard for wireless, broadband telecommunication. HSPA+ enhances the widely used WCDMA (UMTS) based 3G networks with higher speeds for the end user that are comparable to the newer LTE networks. HSPA+ was first defined in the technical standard 3GPP release 7 and expanded further in later releases.
In the United States, it is commonly available under AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile US.

Can you please tell me what you did to get the LET or 4G working on your HTC One DE. I have the same phone and cannot get anything more than Edge. Did you call customer service or add a specific APN etc. Thanks!

There are modifications to get the 4G LTE logo instead of the LTE with two arrows in the Themes and Apps section in XDA developers. Just skim through the thread titles and you'll find it.

I did nothing special just make sure you are:

1. In a lte coverage area
2. Have the proper Sim
3. Have lte data package

If you have all three then you should get lte without issue. The default APN works fine for lte by the way no need to change it as it can cause harm

Id like to revive this discussion. I have a tmo htc one. Unlocked SIM with code, picked up a sim from AT&T store then entered apn settings to default AT&T lte. The result is no connectivity. Signal bar is blank, I am running arhd ge. Hope one of you can help,, thanks a lot!

The software has all the same icons included, Depending on the phones cid determines what icon is shown. Each carrier uses a different cid

Did you ever figure this out Mace? I am being offered a trade for my galaxy s4 active for a T-mobile unlocked HTC One and want to know if i am going to be able to use it to its fullest capabilities on my att network?

ANy help would be great!
