Unlocked LTE watch on AT&T

Hey guys, if I buy a non AT&T brand watch, does anyone know if it will work with AT&T number sync? At&T brand S3 has an option to set it up under connections...I wonder if that would be missing on an "unlocked" watch?

I have an unlocked version. As a matter of fact I called att today and even though they added the imei to my gearbs3 line they mailed me an activation code. Yes, mailed. Not sure what. Maybe because it's probably a QR code or some type of written code. I'll get it tomorrow and will let you know if it worked. Also they told me to activate a non-att version the store would charge me so I asked politely to please waive. Hence the mailing of this code. Anyway. More to come tomorrow.

So I got the activation card from AT&T for the unlocked watch I picked up from Best buy.

This was the watch Bestbuy was selling when it was first available.

Followed the setup instructions through the Gear App and even connected all the way through to Number Sync with no issues.
