I'm thinking about buying the larger Note 20 when it comes out, I haven't bought a phone out right before, I'm thinking about getting the unlocked one, but I don't know if it will work correctly with Verizon, I don't want the bloatware with the Verizon version but I want to make sure it will work correctly, and I have insurance through Verizon and don't want to get insurance through someone else too, have Verizon with family members to save money and they don't all want to change mobile carrier, and the insurance through Verizon is a multi-device insurance to make it cheaper, thanks for your help.

Who are you thinking of getting the phone from? Check the return policy. If it seems lenient, buy it, throw your SIM in and give it a shot. I think it should be fine.

Will Verizon cover unlocked phone ?
You can always buy Verizon version and flash it to unlocked version after its sim unlocked.

Some carriers download their bloat just by being on their network. Locked, carrier branded or not. I think Verizon is one.

Especially now that Samsung uses a universal firmware and adds the carrier stuff by CSC.

I did the unlocked Note 10+ based on Mustang's recommendation. Glad I did and believe the Verizon insurance covers it as well. Probably better verify the latter. Hoping to do the same with the Note 20 Ultra.

Dang

Worry. Worry. Worry.

I've had a unlocked note 10+ for a yr now..
Its on Verizon.
I never want another carrier phone again.

You must want bloatware that comes with a carrier phone.

Am using unlocked since note 5,8 and 10+ now. No more carrier phone for me.

So after reading what others had answered the OP, being a VZW user as well, no one has spoken about what an unlocked phone from Samsung won't be able to do VS a carrier bloated model on VZW. I've read wifi calling won't work, and VZW Cloud and Mobile Hotspot could be wonky.
Any thoughts or user input?
Thanks. Peace

Yep now that carriers are offering wifi calling and volte on unlocked phones, there is really no reason to get a carrier locked phone. Samsung has really picked up its update game as has other manufactures. It wasn't that long ago that unlocked phones got updated last, after the carrier versions. Well not any more.

I wish that were true for AT&T. I bought an unlocked but had to flash the carrier bloatware on it to get wifi calling, HD Voice & Visual Voicemail. AT&T just want so much control over our phones. It's ridiculous. I got an email today stating that they are getting rid of 3G & I need a new phone that has 4G/LTE capabilities! Lol! My unlocked Note 10+ just shows up as a generic/unknown phone type in their system. You go to a linked page where they show "eligible" phones & the Unlocked Note 10+ isn't listed where the S10e unlocked is.. What a company. My unlocked S10e still has the unlocked firmware & I just put my T-Mo SIM in it & everything works fine (except no visual voicemail, had to download an app). Crazy carriers!
