unlocked or carrier?

Hello all. Shopping for a new phone, and i have a question. Assuming i am going to buy a Note 9 directly from samsung, is there any advantage to getting the at&t version over the unlocked? I have at&t service, but if it doesn't matter, then i would think it's better to have the unlocked version for resale reasons. I have never bought a phone without doing it through a carrier, so looking for guidance. Thanks!

The AT&T one will be able to do WiFi calling. The unlocked won't IIRC (AT&T is weird about it).
