Was thinking about it but decided to spend the $25 more and just order the tmobile version from samsung. I hear the unlocked versions from samsung they don't update as fast as the carriers do.

It's still early so you never know. They might (fingers crossed) release other colors like blue and gold.

If you pre-order through Samsung will they be unlocked phones? Will they be sent later? There is no mention of network specific handsets on their site..

You have to go to the pre order section. You have a choice between tmobile, Verizon, sprint, and ATT. They're the exact same versions of the phone if you were to walk into a tmobile or ATT store except you're buying it from samsung and not at the store. They're not unlocked.

The unlock version though supposed to be out in May. However just make sure it includes wifi calling and all the carrier bands with it before you buy it, otherwise stick with a carrier phone.

I'd probably wait some time after release because the US unlocked S7s have lackluster software support.
