I know on AT&T website they list the Unlocked ZF3 as not supported with Advanced Messaging but has anyone found a work around to get it to work? Maybe flashing a different build?

Out of curiosity, what does Advanced Messaging include? Visual Voicemail? I'm running an unlocked pixel 3XL on AT&T which seems to have all the calling/messaging features, and will be switching over to an unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3, and am just wondering what I might lose?

I believe they're referring to RCS.

I gave up on my previous carrier (Verizon) long ago with bringing RCS capabilities so I went the Google Messages route. It works great, but the downsides to RCS with Android is that the recipient also needs to be using the same platform or be on the same carrier (if offered) we with those settings enabled.

I've convinced a small handful of friends and family who use Android to use Google Messages for their texting app and it's awesome being able to share pics and vids that don't get downgraded to the small file size of an MMS

I agree, everyone I know has switched to GMessages and it's been great!

Yeah, Advanced Messaging is how you get RCS on AT&T with Samsung's Messaging app. But like mentioned earlier others would need to be using RCS in order for you to see the benefits.

Yeah, I forgot about that version. Did that install with the Android 12 and One UI 4.0 update? I prefer the layout of G messages over Sammy, but I'd switch to that just to see it in action.

Yes! I got RCS with Google Messages. I'll take that plus the Samsung UI style over not being able to PIN more than 3 chats. I can live with it. Thanks again.

My apologies for a slight hijack, but what does the Google messaging app do that the stock Samsung app does not? I'm unlocked on VZW.

Thanks.

Thanks for this. I was about to ask why GMessages doesn't look any different? I mean, I've noticed little tweaks, but the feature where they show being able to pull down the threads like on the Samsung Messages app (for better one-handed operation) doesn't work for me.

What I see now with GM is basically the exact same as with the version I had on my S21 Ultra and both being pre-Android 12.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but I was with Verizon when I had the S21U and with ATT now with GZF3
