Unlocking HTC EVO 4G to Verizon With No Sim

I have an Iphone that died and happened upon HTC EVO 4G. I have seen tutorials showing how to get it working on verizon prepaid Taking your HTC EVO 4G LTE to Verizon prepaid - Pocketables , and how to jail brake HTC phones with sim cards How to Unlock an HTC Phone (with Pictures) - wikiHow , but none for my specific situation.

I have the unlimited data plan on verizon and I want to unlock the HTC EVO 4G to work under that plan. Will either of the above methods work? or will any others work?
