A friend of mine

I'm going to get a phone from Verizon, then switch to a mnvo under Verizon. Verizon "newly purchased device may be locked exclusivity to work in the Verizon network for 60 days"
He basically plans to pay the phone day 1 and switch to the mnvo that's under Verizon network on day 2. Would I be able to do that?

I know if you put a Verizon SIM into a locked Verizon prepaid phone it locks the SIM and stops your service. I learned this the hard way a few weeks ago and spent several days without service and had to talk to multiple Verizon reps before they sent me to tier 2 tech support and they realized my account was locked for possible fraud(system flagged the phone as stolen and locked my account or something).

Not sure what will happen if you put a non Verizon SIM in but I wouldn't bother trying when you can buy the phone unlocked.
