Unlocking results in white screen...?

For the past few days I have noticed that sometimes when I unlock the screen all I get is a white screen with black bars on the top and bottom with the normal top bar reading clock, signal etc. I can hit the Home or Back keys and its gone but its kind of annoying.

I have tried rebooting and turning it off and on and its still happening.

I noticed the same thing on mine this morning. Its the first time its happened though

Im thinking about a full reset then see what happens.

Well I think I found the culprit. I did a reboot before going to bed and plugged it in to charge over night.

Woke up and unlocked it and found the white screen. I hit the back button then pulled down the notification bar,the News app was listed but I had never opened it. Went in a disabled the sync item for News and it has not happened since.
