Unlocking the Design

just curious, was given a 4g design, but the person who bought it could not pay the bill and sprint has locked it, I would really like to upgrade from my optimus, is there a way to get around the lock from sprint?

what exactly does htcdev.com do the disclaimer says that unlocking it may make some functions not work what functions will not work will it make my device lag at all with it unlocked pretty much will it mess up my phone

If you have taken the ota update for it then you don't have to worry, it won't root. I just found this out because mine had a bad charging port and had to swap it out. The new one came updated and I can't root it. I wish I.has just bought another battery and charger 8-(

That phone is black listed..yr only choice is to root it if possible. And flash over to metro pcs or cricket if theres a supporting rom..if not then u got u an htc ipod..

If they didn't pay their bill them I'm sorry there is no way to use this phone on Sprint short of committing a federal crime and changing the esn.
You can however have the device flashed to Cricket or MetroPCS or you can do that yourself there are guides out there you'll have to use Google to find them.
