Unplug and replug in the morning?

I am sure I am not the only one to do this, I have unplugged my EVO as soon as I wake up in the morning, then plug it right back in while I get ready. The phone will charge for like 30 to 40 minutes and "tops off" my battery. This seems to make a very noticeable difference in battery life through the day. I am guessing that the charge completes in the middle of the night and could use a little more by morning? I did this with my Samsung Moment before my EVO and it worked with it also. Or am I crazy? My two cents worth...

After a long charge on a lithium battery, the voltage will settle a bit (depends on temp and charge current.) When you re-start the charge after some time, it is able to add a little more. The faster the first charge rate is, the more noticeable this effect is.

Most likely, the phone is not tail-charging the lithium once it hits 4.2v ... though I'd have to bust out my R/C tools to check.

Maybe this will be just what some of the forum members need to make it through the day on a charge.

I did, it works. Also, charging the powered off phone seems to work, too. When regular charging, I always notice that my battery life drops like 20%-30% really fast ante decreases slowly from then on. This explains it.

I dunno if it has to do with this, but when I wake up and unplug my phone, 20 minutes later when I get to work, it's down to 90% already...Not a big deal, because it starts going down slower once it hits 90% or so...Just weird.
